Fresh off of the NHL All-Star Game, Mitch Marner has added to his celestial celebration.
The Maple Leafs winger was chosen third star of the week for his single-tournament record six assists, three each in the Atlantic Division’s two games while his team won the showcase in South Florida on the weekend.

Marner assisted on Matthew Tkachuk’s goal in the semi-final and two of Dylan Larkin’s in the final, those two from Florida and Detroit named first and second stars of the week, Tkachuk the game MVP.
Marner was also featured in the skills contest, in Friday’s breakaway challenge. In regular play, he had a goal in a 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Wednesday.
Marner’s 52 games so far this season have produced 60 points, including a couple of franchise records for most consecutive games and home games with a point. He’s tied for the sixth in NHL assists with 41, and sixth in power-play assists with 19. He is 23 points away from passing Rick Vaive and joining the top 10 in franchise points with 538.
The Leafs are off until resuming practice Thursday, prior to a back-to-back against the Columbus Blue Jackets starting Friday at Nationwide Arena.
