Nneka Ogwunmike scored 22 points when Los Angeles Sparks defeated New York Liberty 84-74 on Sunday night and opened a seven-game homestand.

Ogwumike has added 6 rebounds to Sparks, who won 3 out of the last four. She scored efficiently and finished 13-9 from the field.

Katie Lou Samuelson, Liz Cambage, Chinese Ogwumike and Jordin Canada all helped with this cause and added a total of 51 points.

This was an offensive battle for most games in New York, shooting 39.7% of the shots from the field. Guard Sabrinaionesque struggled again, shooting 18-5 from the field and 12-3 from the 3-point range. On Thursday night, Ionesk shot 31.5% from the field and 10% from the deep.

However, Ionescu did other things to keep the team in the game as usual, ending the contest with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

Liberty took the advantage of 43-40 during the half-time break, but failed to maintain its lead throughout the third quarter. Los Angeles beat New York 25-14 in the frame and maintained momentum in the final period.

Sparks changed his chances by throwing 10 more free throws than Liberty. Los Angeles shot 18 out of 22 shots from the Charity Stripe.

New York wasn't afraid to shoot almost half of the shots from behind the arc and from the surroundings. Liberty knocked down 12 3 pointers in 33 attempts. Marin Johannes turned off from a long distance and hit 5 out of 9 3-point trials.

Sparks took advantage of that size on Sunday night, surpassing New York 37-28. They also scored 44 points in paint and dominated low compared to Liberty's 22.

Los Angeles returned to the home floor on Monday night. Liberty is in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
