No injuries after toddler accidentally locked in vehicle with key in Dutton-Dunwich: OPP

Elgin County Ontario Police have asked parents to unlock their car after a toddler was accidentally locked in a car Saturday evening in Dutton. We encourage you to wear it at all times. -Dunwich.

Police and tow truck drivers responded after an infant was accidentally locked inside the vehicle with the keys.

Fortunately, the tow truck driver managed to open the car and reunite the child with his family, police added, adding that no injuries had been reported.

"OPP would like to take this opportunity to thank our Towing Partners for their assistance with this incident," he said Insp. Mark He Lucas of the Elgin County Detachment of OPP.

"OPP also encourages all parents and caregivers to always We encourage you to carry your car keys with you and accidentally lock the door if you get involved without notice or if a child is inside.”

Police said children were inside vehicles. If trapped, members of the public should call 911 for help.

In addition, police say parents should block out the sun if possible, keep calm and be on time.
