A total of 179 vehicles passed the police checkpoint
Weekend 22-24 July Last month's Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club Canada Run saw about 600 motorcyclists in the Brooklyn area north of Whitby.
Instead, 22 Highway Traffic Act (HTA) violations, 4 license plates and 5 helmets were seized, and 4 towed vehicles were declared unsafe
according to police, totaling 179 vehicles. of vehicles passed a set checkpoint with an HTA charge rate of approximately 40%.
Calls from members of the public were kept to a minimum. This "may be due to the strong and professional joint response of the police," and that "more club members took buses to and from the Brooklyn Chapter location … Formal heavy-duty motorcycles were used to traverse the area. It wasn't running."
While police questioned the need for some people to have a strong presence during the event, "The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club , an organized crime group that deals in gun and drug trafficking."
Authorities thanked "the Brooklyn community and all residents for their understanding and patience during that weekend."
