Oklahoma assistant head football coach Cale Gandy said: He announced his resignation on Sunday. He used offensive language at a photo shoot last week.

Gundy apologized in his post and explained the reasons for his resignation. Oklahoma coach Brent Venables said in a statement that those involved in the program "are responsible for our actions and their consequences."

"It is sad to accept the resignation of Gandy his coach," Venables said. "He has devoted more than half his life to Oklahoma football and has served our program and the university well. We appreciate that commitment."
