Australian Capital Territory Police said Kirgios was scheduled to appear in court in August after attacking former girlfriend Chiara Passari in Canbella last December. ..
Kirgios will advance to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and will play in London on Wednesday.
Kyrgios lawyer Jason Moffett said his client was aware of the charges, but had no further comments.
"It's in the context of domestic relations," Moffett told the Canbella Times.
Kirgios, 27, has been the subject of ATP fines and fan criticism for his flammable temperament and unpredictable attitude in court. However, he has been in the Grand Slam quarterfinals for the third time in his career.
In his victory over Stephanos Chichipas at Wimbledon on Sunday, Kirgios was caught by a courtside Mike asking the referee, "Are you an idiot?"
Tsitsipas said that after the match, Kyrgios bullying should not be tolerated.
"That's constant bullying. That's what he's doing. He bullies his enemies," said Chichipas, who lost to Kirgios in Germany last month. "He was probably a bully at school. I don't like bullies."
According to the Times, Kirgios is more than any other active player in his career. Many have accumulated fines totaling about 540,000 US dollars.
