One man dies after being stabbed in Surrey

Police believe there was a confrontation between the victim and several others prior to the stabbing.

Sally RCMP stabbed man to death Thursday night said he did.

The violence occurred around 10:00 pm. Near 184 Street and Fraser Hwy in the Clayton Heights area.

Officers found his 45-year-old man seriously injured. He was taken to hospital, where he died.

One person was detained by police with the help of the dog squad, but police believe others may be involved.

"The first indication was that there was a confrontation involving the victim and several other parties prior to the stabbing," Sally RCMP said in a statement.

Efforts are underway to identify all parties who may have been involved in or witnessed the incident.”

A Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been deployed.
