Toronto — Top Doctors in Ontario The state's current Monkey Pox vaccination strategy is working, saying that virus cases appear to have peaked.
Dr. Keeran Moore says the state has vaccinated more than 20,000 monkeypox and priority groups meet gay, bisexual, and specific criteria. He states that he is another man who has sex with a man.
However, noting the recent incidents found in Toronto shelters, some say that state vaccination strategies are not sufficient to protect people living in homeless shelters.
Diana Chan McNally, a community worker at the Center for the Needs in Toronto, said that the monkeypox vaccine is for people living in shelters, given the nature of the environment and the fact that the people living there may share it. Says that it should be widely available to your belongings.
The Toronto Public Health held a pop-up monkeypox vaccine clinic at a shelter where cases were recently reported. Moore states that it is part of Ontario's "ring vaccination" strategy for people who may have been exposed to known cases.
The Ontario Department of Public Health reported a total of 449 confirmed cases of monkeypox in the state as of Thursday, with more than 77% reported in Toronto.
