An injured osprey has another chance to come back to life thanks to the actions of an OPP Officer and the Sandy Pines Wildlife Center team.
"They got a call saying it was on the ground and people had been watching it for two days," said Sandy Pines director Susan Meech. increase.
"The mother was in a nest above the area and was feeding some of the chicks in the nest."

"The chances of success are slim, but we'll give it a chance," says Meech. "I'll try."

The effort speaks to the passion of the team Meech has assembled.
"I think everyone here just cares about animals and wants to help them in any way they can," says Sandy Pines employee Cary Beckett.
Ever since Beckett can remember, he has had a passion for helping animals.
"Since I was little, I wanted to work with animals," she says. "And when I got to college, I was really into the wildlife side of things and giving back to the community."

While they can'certainly, Sandy Pines' team I suspect this bird was kicked out by the family.
"Excuse me, survival of the fittest," says Meech.
The team says they should be able to better judge whether the osprey will survive within a week, but Beckett says that if it does, it will be released into the wild. He said it would be a while before he returned.
"If we release him again, we will release him in the area where his parents and family are," continues Beckett. "Hope your mom will come and still take care of him."
