Cincinnati — Denis Shapovalov pairs in Game 11 lost 7-5, 7-5 to world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev in the Western & Southern Open Masters-level tennis tournament on Thursday.

Shapovalov showed flashes of skill on points throughout the match, especially in the ninth game of the second set. Shapovalov fended off his four break points to win the game, which ended in 9 minutes and 42 seconds, taking a 5-4 lead.
