Ottawa man drowned near Bancroft

The incident occurred at Peter Lake on Saturday.

His 39-year-old man from Ottawa was at Bank on Saturday. A victim who drowned near the loft, Ontario police said Tuesday.

Sovann Chhay was spotted by his OPP's underwater search and recovery unit on Lake Peter, between Bancroft and Peterborough.

past 5:30 pm. On Saturday, OPP officers and the Wollaston Fire Department responded to reports of a canoe capsizing on Peter Lake and one person missing.

Rescue operations were carried out by local residents who saw one person enter the water, according to police reports. An ongoing search by police and firefighters was also unsuccessful.

The body of the missing sailor was found on Sunday afternoon.

The investigation continued on Tuesday, with a post-mortem examination being conducted, police said.
