Ottawa police asking for help identifying suspect in reported robbery

Ottawa police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in an incident in which a man is alleged to have stolen items and then assaulted two staff members at a Nepean store.

The incident was reported to have happened in the 200 block of Grant Carman Drive, which is near Meadowlands Drive East, at about 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 2, the Ottawa Police Service said Monday.

The staff members suffered minor injuries, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s and about five feet, eight inches tall. He wore a white T-shirt, black jogging pants, a black ball cap worn backwards and black shoes, and carried a blue backpack, police said.
