Partner arrested for attempted murder after woman falls from balcony

The incident occurred early Sunday morning in Quebec City.

A man in his 20s was arrested for attempted murder early Sunday morning in Quebec City after an incident involving his partner.

Police officers were called to the Ste-Foy—Sillery—Cap-Rouge borough around 4 a.m. after a woman fell from a third-floor balcony.

The victim, also in her 20s, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Her life is not believed to be in danger.

Preliminary information indicated the woman’s fall was a criminal incident, the Quebec City police department said in a statement.

Investigators and forensic technicians were dispatched to the scene to shed light on what happened.
