“Forward bookings on Pascan are not where they need to be,” Aron Winterstein, Kingston airport manager, said in a statement. “This is not an issue with safety or support from our partners and residents. Currently, travellers cannot book directly on the Air Canada website, use Aeroplan points for bookings or speak with an Air Canada booking agent, and we are pausing service until those levels of high level of customer service can be met.”
Pascan operates a fleet of six 33-seat Saab 340B+ aircraft and six 19-seat Jetstream 32 aircraft and is to add the 50-seat Saab 2000 in the next year.
The airline currently serves Montreal’s Trudeau and St-Hubert airports, Quebec City, Bagotville, Mont-Joli, Bonaventure, Magdalen Islands, Baie-Comeau, Sept-Îles, Gaspé and Wabush in Labrador.
Kingston was the airline’s first Ontario destination.
Flights can still be booked between Kingston and Montreal through Jan. 6.
