Halifax's college-favorite café and bar decided to revive its patio after a Sunday night hit-and-run overwhelmed its outdoor dining space. Working on it is corrupted.
A photo posted by Coburg Social Bar and Café on his social media shows a concrete wall torn in half and tables and chairs skewed.
Coburg owner and operator of his Social, Kelly Irvine, said the incident happened around 9 p.m. and the store was closed.
``A car was going up Coburg Road from Robbie Street. We have a patio," she said.
"And instead of turning the corner, he crossed the street and headed for the patio."

Car This is the third year the patio has opened on Henley Street, where the park is parked.

Irvine said Coburg Road is busy, but Henry Street is relatively quiet.
``I am grateful that no one was hurt. I'm glad I did," she said.
She did not know how much the damage was in dollars, but she said it would be covered by insurance.

Since posting the photo online, Irvine said some people have asked why the patio is on the street, but the patio is completely
"We have a permit. It has helped us keep our business going during COVID. , and still is," she said. "It's an important part of our business."
