Peterborough County OPP looks to be back, but cremated remains of Alabama man found

Peterborough County Ontario Police continue efforts to locate the family of a man whose cremated remains were transferred to a detachment five years ago.

According to OPP, on June 25, a small box containing the tashes of a man identified as being fromAlabama was found. , was sent to the Peterborough County Detachment. , 2017.

The box was found in a storage container near Stony Lake in Douro Damer Township, north of Peterborough.

According to police, paperwork in the box identified the deceased as a native of Rainsville, Alabama, and given his March 17, 1941 date of birth as Samuel Wilson.
