Pickering shooting leads to 11 charges for Toronto man

Durham Regional Police seized a firearm and arrested a Toronto man after a shooting in Pickering on Sunday.

At 4 p.m., officers were called about a shooting in the area of Spruce Hill Rd. They located shell casings, but the suspects had fled from the area. There were no reported injuries.

Police then conducted a traffic stop of a suspect vehicle and arrested the driver. They also seized cannabis, a handgun and ammunition.

Josiah French, 21, is facing 11 charges that include possess illicit cannabis, possess for the purpose of selling, tampering with serial number, and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
