Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Rodolfo Castro was served a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine Tuesday for violating Major League Baseball's electronic device policy during an Aug. 9 game. rice field.
Castro carried a mobile phone. He put it in his back pocket during a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks and fell when he slid headfirst into third base in the fourth inning.
Castro is appealing the suspension. On Tuesday night in Boston he is eligible to play against his Red Sox.
