When the Pittsburgh Pirates visit the Washington Nationals for a three-game series starting Monday, they confront their old friends with a hot streak.

Former pirate Josh Bell advanced 3-5 at the RBI, scoring two runs with a Nationals 6-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday. In the last 10 games, Bell has scored .429 (35 to 15) with 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 RBIs.

At the end of the season, Bell, a free agent, may be sent to candidates at the closing date. But for now, he continues to rake for Washington.

"When I'm fine, when I feel right, good things happen. I think that's true for everyone," Hotstreak said. Bell said he raised the average from .290 to .308 in the meantime. "Now I feel really good .... I'm really happy to be trapped."

Bell, who spent his first five seasons at Pirates, has two in nine games compared to his previous team. It is 11 to 29 (.379) with home runs and 7 RBIs.

Rookie Jackson Tellrow allowed one run in six innings, and Nelson Cruz scored two out of three RBIs in Texas and four out of six RBIs overall.

The Nationals will send a right-handed Erick Fedde (5-5, 4.46 ERA) to Pittsburgh at the opener. Pirates have not yet nominated a starter.

Fed, who has never played against Pittsburgh, has won two of the last three starts and threw six shutout innings against the Orioles at the last time-out. He allowed 2 hits and walks, hit 4 and threw 97 pitches.

The Kuomintang has endeavored to defeat the batter, rather than having Fed grab a corner to increase the number of pitches. He recently threw 111 balls in the 51/3 innings, which he lost to the Braves.

"He throws a lot of non-competitive pitches in two strikes, and as I said, people at this level aren't going to chase that kind of pitch," the manager said. Dave Martinez said after the match against Baltimore.

Pirates are pleased to put Tampa Bay in the rearview mirror. After losing the walkoff on Friday and Saturday, Rays won 4-2 on Sunday and started the seventh 1-1 match.

Pittsburgh fell to 8-16 in June. This includes 4-13 of the game determined by one or two runs.

Pirates couldn't take advantage of the strong start from the rookie Roansy Contreras.

"I played enough to win all three games, but I couldn't win any of them," said Pirates manager Derek Shelton. "Comfort is that it's a really good team. You have to come up with a way to end those games. This is one of the developments for young players."

Tampa Bay's Landia Rosarena Was called in an attempt to steal with a score of a one-on-one draw in 7th place. After the video review, the call was overturned and Rays continued to record three runs.

Daniel Vogelbach struck Pirates' pinch hitter Solohomer. Third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes was 1 to 4 on his return after missing two games due to shoulder pain.
