Plastic makers ask court to reject Ottawa plan to ban single-use straws, cups

More than 20 plastic manufacturers sued straws, straws, cutlery and takeout containers in federal court.

This is his second lawsuit filed in court by a coalition of plastic manufacturers calling itself the Responsible Plastic Use Coalition.

The first lawsuit, filed in 2021, seeks to overturn the government's decision to designate plastic as "toxic" under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.
