Ottawa police asked Wednesday night, “as a precaution and for the safety of the public,” that everyone stay away from the area of Tompkins Avenue and Tenth Line Road.
A news release issued at 9:30 p.m. said only that the Ottawa Police Service was conducting police operations in the area. Contacted shortly after 9:30, a spokesperson for the East Division would only say that it was an ongoing investigation.
