Police officer injured while getting stuck in garage door during arrest

She suffered serious lower-body injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Montreal police say a female officer was injured and taken to hospital Friday night after getting stuck in a garage door while trying to help colleagues arrest robbery suspects.

The incident occurred in Cartierville, near L’Acadie and Henri-Bourassa Blvds., police said.

The female officer was trying to assist her colleagues inside an apartment building when the garage door opened automatically, trapping her for several minutes. She suffered serious lower-body injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The arrests followed a robbery at a St-Denis St. business in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood.

The 911 call was placed around 7 p.m.
