A police investigation is investigating links between three random Vancouver attacks.

Vancouver Police are investigating whether three strangers' assaults in the city's Fairview neighborhood on Thursday are linked.

According to police, the three attacks occurred in close proximity in time and location.

Investigators said the suspect man tackled his 70-year-old man from behind and punched and kicked him several times.

Someone approached a 33-year-old woman from behind while she was walking her dog near West 11th Street and Spruce Street around 7:15 p.m. and punched her in the face, police said.

Then at about 8:45 pm West she was walking near Broadway and Alder Her Street A 23-year-old woman was stabbed.

Police said the woman was seriously injured, but is expected to survive. The suspect fled south on Alder Street.
