Springfield, Virginia (AP) — Police in northern Virginia say police shot and killed the suspect outside a shopping mall on Thursday.
Fairfax County Police on Twitter late Thursday afternoon, their preliminary investigation stopped suspects wanted by police outside Springfield Town Center when a conflict arose. He said it was showing that he was trying.
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.
According to a preliminary investigation, police spokesman Ensign James Curry said police officers were not injured.
No further details were immediately available. The shooting took place Thursday afternoon, and helicopter footage showed the presence of a large police force in the parking lot of the mall.
Thursday's shooting will take place within two weeks of shooting at another Fairfax County mall, the Tysons Corner Center. No one was injured in the shooting, but three were injured as they fled the mall.
