A driver who registered more than three times the legal blood-alcohol count recently has more than the drunk-driving charges to worry about.

Provincial police searching the man’s vehicle on Highway 417 discovered a “large quantity” of cigarettes not legally for sale in Canada.

In addition, police allegedly found about $40,000 in cash in the vehicle.

“Numerous Criminal Code, Liquor Licence & Tobacco Tax Act charges (were) laid,” provincial police said in a Twitter message.

Police did not immediately say where the man was stopped.
