Power outage affecting parts of downtown Toronto

Toronto Police said the power outage had affected the downtown area. says that

Toronto His Hydro said: Hydro One is investigating and we appreciate your continued patience.

"Customers in and around the following boundaries may be affected:

• North of Carlton Street to South of Queens Quay E. and East of Bayview Avenue York Street

• North of Esplanade, Queens Quay E., East of Church Street, Lower Jervis Street

Many office buildings in Toronto's financial district and campus of Toronto Metropolitan University Power outage, many traffic lights out.Out.The Eaton Center is included in the affected area.

Police say the cause of the power outage is currently unknown.

They remind people to treat intersections as four-way stops. The lights are out.

Hydro-One says the outage is related to the power transmission system, and more updates will be available.
