TORONTO — There are now 529 confirmed monkeypox cases in the province, according to the Ontario Department of Public Health.

The agency's latest report on the disease as of Monday reflected an increase in the tally of 478 confirmed cases in Ontario as of last Wednesday. I'm here.

Nearly 75% of confirmed cases are in Toronto, and all but three cases are reported in men, according to the report.

Four of the confirmed cases were under the age of 20, two were over the age of 70, and the average age of confirmed cases was about 36. said to be old.

According to Public Health, 16 people are hospitalized with the disease and two are in intensive care in the province.

Ontario also has nine probable cases. .

Monkeypox is spread through close physical contact with the affected area, clothing, or bedsheets of an infected person, and can cause symptoms such as rashes, swollen lymph nodes, and fever.
