The Texas Rangers on Wednesday fired Jon Daniels as the team's president of baseball operations.
Daniels, who turns 45 next Wednesday, joined the Rangers' baseball operations division in 2002. He was named the team's eighth general manager on October 4, 2005, and was promoted to president of baseball operations in March 2013. According to Rangers, Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Young will oversee the team's operations department. Young was hired by the Rangers in December 2020 to work alongside Daniels.
