Wood Buffalo RCMP is asking Fort McMurray residents for information and videos to help investigate the shooting that sent a man to the hospital on Wednesday night.
Police said police were dispatched to the Toren Drive area of the Northern Alberta community shortly before midnight after reporting that someone had fired. Shortly after they arrived, police were informed by nearby hospital staff that a 22-year-old man had been injured by a non-life-threatening bullet and arrived at the facility.
About 10 minutes later, the RCMP said police were called in for another report that it was fired in the Stroud Bay / Coldwell Crescent area.
"Executives were able to find and seize the white Volkswagen Passat, which they believe was related to the shooting," RCMP said in a news release published Thursday.
"RCMP believes that these two shots are related and seeks help from the general public to identify witnesses who would have been in the area at the time.
