Recovery work underway after missing boater at Alberta's Spray Lakes Reservoir

A loved one of a man who entered the water at Spray Lakes Reservoir on Sunday night arrived at the scene Monday afternoon.

Recovery efforts are underway to find the remains of a man the RCMP presumes drowned in water.

The details of the incident are not yet known, but eyewitnesses told by Global News said the man was believed to have been out to sea in a small boat.

Witnesses said they saw a man's dog fall into the sea. She said her owner then went into the water.

Search and rescue operations began on Sunday, according to the RCMP, but on Monday those efforts refocused on one of the recovery he-he.

On Monday afternoon, a Global News crew member at the scene said a member of the rescue team was piloting the man's small boat. I have seen you do it. Water—return to shore.

The Spray Lakes Reservoir is located approximately 35 kilometers south of Canmore.
