The Boston Red Sox moved Tanner Hook closer to the 15-day injured list on Tuesday with hip inflammation.
The move, which took place just before Boston's game against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night, dates back to Saturday.
In a corresponding move, the Red Sox recalled the same right-hander Caleb Ort from Triple-A Worcester.
Houck, 26, hasn't pitched since his five-out save in Houston last Tuesday.
Hauck is 5-4 with a 3.15 ERA and has eight saves in 32 games (four starts) this season. He's 9-9 with a 3.02 ERA in 53 games (20 starts) in three seasons with the Red Sox.
Ort, 30, has appeared in 10 games this season with a 9.49 ERA.
