Calgary police have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman whose body parts were found east of the city.
After police launched a search Saturday for evidence related to her death in Shikshika Her Nation, DNA evidence revealed that a partial remains had been found in Tammy Doreen Howard. , also known as Irish.

Following the discovery, 36-year-old Natalie Renee Vinje, also known as N.V. Evans, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with Howard's death. Vinje is still in custody and she is scheduled to appear in court on August 19th.

Police said she believed Vinje did not act alone.
Howard was last seen in December 2016, and her family reported her missing in April of the following year.
Over the past five years, the Calgary Police Missing Persons Unit has been "particularly violent," Trait said. He has followed up on leads and examined evidence to locate Howard, who was believed to have been murdered in "a nasty manner."
