Formula 1 Circuit and ESPN have agreed to renew their three-year contract for US rights by 2025, the Sports Business Journal reported Friday.
Both Amazon and Comcast were in talks against Disney-owned ESPN. According to the
report, the New Deal is worth $ 75- $ 90 million. The previous transaction between the two entities was $ 15 million over three years.
There are 20 F1 drivers in 10 different teams competing in 22 races in 2022. The United States is hosting two races in Austin, Texas, the Miami Grand Prix and the Circuit of the Americas. The third US race, which will be contested on courses including the famous Las Vegas Strip, will debut in 2023.
