The Houston Texans are voiding a trade with the Miami Dolphins this week after tight end Adam Shaheen failed physically, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
Dolphins turned over Shaheen and a 2023 seventh-round pick to the Texans on Tuesday in exchange for a 2023 sixth-round pick.
Shaheen, 27, returns to the Miami roster. He has not missed a single training camp, but has reportedly failed physically due to his knee injury.
He caught 12 passes and gained 110 yards in his 12 games with Miami last season. Shaheen, who was a second-round pick from Chicago in 2017, has played for the Bears (2017-19) and the Dolphins in 55 games (25 starts) where he has 50 receptions for 509 yards and 7 receptions. I am recording a touchdown.
Shaheen ranked him fifth on the depth chart Miami released last weekend. Houston was looking for depth after Anthony Eau Claire sat out with a knee injury.
