AJAX, ont. — He recovered the bodies of two men from a construction site in Ajax, Ontario. where the trench collapsed on Monday afternoon.
A large trench near Rossland Road and Westney Road collapsed around noon, burying two workers and wounding another of his two men, according to authorities.
One of his injured was airlifted to a hospital in Toronto and another one of him broke his ankle and was taken to a local hospital in the Durham area.
Firefighters and crews worked through the night to retrieve the buried man using heavy excavating equipment.
Durham Local Police confirmed that the bodies of his two missing workers were recovered around 2:30 am on Tuesday.
The Ontario Department of Labor said it was investigating the cause of the collapse.
