VANCOUVER — Nathan Rourke Saw Saturday He threw for an impressive 477 yards to lead BC. Lions to a 46-14 demolition of the Edmonton Elks.
The rookie CFL quarterback finished with five touchdowns on his passes, where he completed 34 of his 37 attempts and rushed for 14 yards in his majors. Added.
Michael O'Connor trailed the Lions' center late in the fourth quarter (6-1), but as B.C. he didn't record a single pitch. He hastily decides to finish the game.
Edmonton (2-6) reportedly moved Cornelius back to his quarterback after Trefford was added to his six-game injured list on Friday. In action in Week 1 he won 59-15 for the side.
Cornelius threw for 183 yards on Saturday and had 15 of 26 attempts he had one touchdown in which he had a pass and an interception. He was fired five times.
Malik Irons hastily added a major for Elk, who was about to finish his goodbye week. Both sides stuttered to start the game, with Elks turning the ball over on his first two possessions.
Lyons capitalized on his second error. Rourke scored a 2-yard touchdown he connected with Dominic Rhimes on a pass and in 6 plays he recorded a 49-yard scoring drive, B. Midway through the first quarter he led 7–0.
Edmonton responded, steadily going down the field before Cornelius escaped from his pocket and at the end Kenny Lawler in his zone he fired a 19-yard bullet. A 7-play, 69-yard drive marked the Elks' only points of the first half.
BC was a long way off.
The Lions started the next possession with his 49-yard pass from Rourke to Lucky Whitehead, who sprinted into Edmonton territory. The young QB he keyed on on a 16-yard toss. He followed Hatcher and tacked for a 14-yard run. He sailed another ball to Rimes before the opening frame ended.
Midway through the second, Rimes under pressure he jumped up to the reel with a 15-yard toss, his third TD of the game, this one. Play boosted his B.C. cushioned him to 20-7.
Just minutes later, Rourke found Whitehead open and a quick receiver down the field sent him 37 yards down the field to Nafeez past his Lyon for a 69-yard touchdown.
He scored on his fifth consecutive possession when BC White hit a 47-yard field goal.
Rourke ended the end with his six seconds remaining Brian along the sidelines of his zone he found Burnham and finished the half with yet another TD. The veteran receiver has definitely stepped into the majors.

Irons eventually sprinted his 6-yard distance into the end his zone, earning the visitors some points early in the fourth. The touchdown cut Edmonton's deficit to 46-14.
The Lions will face the Stampeders in Calgary next Saturday. Elks later that night he will host the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Footnotes: Rourke broke his own record for passing yards by a Canadian quarterback in a single game.
