The Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Wednesday that Russian-flagged cargo ship Zhibek Zholy was detained in Turkey's Karas port on suspicion of carrying stolen Ukrainian grain.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexei Zaitsev said Ukrainian authorities are carrying grain from the occupied port of Berdyans'k, 7,146 dwt Zhibek Zholy "follows standard procedures" Said.
Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey said on Sunday that Turkish authorities had detained Zhibek Zholy. Reuters previously reported that Ukraine had requested Turkey to arrest the ship. (Report by Reuters)
