New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston twisted his leg during Monday's practice, ending the session early.

"He came in for an evaluation. We don't have an update on that," said Saints head coach Dennis Allen. "It's kind of like a rollout. I think it was his 7-on-7 time. He felt it was a little tweaked, so we wanted to come in and get some recognition."

Winston is coming back from a torn ACL he suffered on October 31st last season. He was 5-2 as the new starter under center in the era after Drew Brees.

NFL Network reported over the weekend that Winston is doing well, but he's still not 100%.

Winston signed his two-year contract worth $28 million in March. The deal included a $21 million guarantee.

Winston, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, said that before the 2020 season, the Buccaneers lured Tom Brady to Tampa in free agency, making him the franchise's second superstar. It was sidelined when we won the bowl.

Winston said he turned 28 in January. In his career 83 games, he has 20,982 passing yards, 135 touchdown passes and 91 interceptions.
