Saskatchewan Party Celebrates 25th Anniversary at Davidson

The Saskatchewan Party celebrates its quarter-century birthday this weekend.

"Summer in Saskatchewan is a time of family gathering. This is a moment our family, theSaskatchewan Partyfamily, celebrate," Mo said.

On August 8, 1997, former Conservative leader Bill Boyd and former liberal opposition Ken Krawets announced the formation of the Saskatchewan Party.

“In my view, this is the only option for advancing policies and platforms. The people want to oppose the NDP in this state," Boyd said at the ceremony.

The party, which he started small with four Conservatives and four liberal MLAs, was registered as a formal political party on 17 September 1997.

This party had an impact ten years after him. A party led by Brad Wall won his 38 seats to form the first government, a position it holds to this day.
