Sûreté du Québec states: launched a search Monday afternoon for a man believed to have fallen into a manure pit in the town of Les Hautetours in the Bas Saint-Laurent region.
SQ was called around 5pm. After a growing fear that a man has fallen into a pit, a very powerful and potentially incapacitating smoke is released as its contents decompose.
Provincial Police joined local first responders and Quebec Occupational Safety and Health Commission officials as the search and investigation continued.
