Thursday morning saw closures on Hwy. 427 approaching the QEW because of an accident just before midnight Wednesday.
“There was a transport truck overnight that was broken down, blocking part of a lane,” Schmidt said.
“Three other vehicles approached, tried to avoid it, ended up losing control.”

There was another problem on Hwy. 401 westbound just past Dixie Rd. in Mississauga.
“Another car came into the back of a transport truck. That person has been transported to hospital with critical injuries,” Schmidt said.
There were also multiple crashes on Hwy. 401 west of Hurontario St.
“These are because of slippery conditions due to a dusting of snow and heavy winds,” Schmidt said.
“A couple lanes were blocked on Hwy. 401 near Mill St. out in the east end due to an organic spill from a transport truck. Again, with that wind and weather, make sure you clear your vehicle before you head out and be aware of changing weather conditions,” he advised.
