Stabbing victim becomes Montreal's 26th homicide of 2022

A police command post has been set up at Jeanne-Mance St. and Van Horne Ave.

Montreal police on Friday said an early morning altercation between two individuals at the corner of Jeanne-Mance St. and Van Horne Ave. has resulted in the city’s 26th homicide of the year.

A 911 call at 5:10 a.m. notified police of the presence of the victim near the intersection. The person was declared dead at the scene.

The assailant fled; a police command post has been set up at the scene to garner information on the killing and to oversee the search for the suspect.
