“In the past seven days, the OPP have been called to seven fatal crashes where eight people died.”

Three of those victims were pedestrians and one was a motorcyclist. Two more people died in crashes due to inattention.

Other fatal crashes were the result of improper passing, Schmidt said.

Schmidt says aggressive driving is the No. 1 cause of death in Ontario.

“Keep an eye on the traffic around you. Please be careful out there,” he said.
