Great His One is being sued by a man who claims a former Edmonton oiler lied about losing his weight on chewing gum. Petitioner accuses Gretzky of fabricating the allegations cost him a whopping $10 million,TMZ Sports reports.
TMZ obtained a copy of the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on Monday. The complaint details the man's allegations.
He created a "natural gum used to manage weight" and it which he called OMG gum.
Sparks said it has hired Gretzky's former model wife, Janet Gretzky, as a spokesperson for OMG Gum.
But when Sparks claimed that Wayne made a fuss about sticky candy, the company hit a storm. According to the complaint, Gretzky claims he managed to lose 35 pounds by chewing his OMG for about two months.
Sparks now owns a company that Gretzky "secretly bought in the name of his family." Alleges it used false information to boost its stock.
The chewing gum promoter said he didn't know Gretzky was spreading the truth about his impressive weight loss. did.
But Sparks eventually admitted that Gretzky lied about the results, saying the company imploded. Sparks says he left with the bag.
Sparks said he is now out on $10 million. He wants it back from Gretzky.
Number 99 was in Edmonton, Los Angeles, New York and St. Louis for 20 seasons he struggled in the NHL. The national icon is worth $250 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Gretzky has been married to Janet since 1988, and the couple has five children. Among their children is his 33-year-old model, Paulina Gretzky, who is married to LIV Golf star Dustin Johnson.
