The charge comes after Mounties received a report on July 18 from a patient who was allegedly sexually assaulted while undergoing a physical exam by a doctor at a pain clinic in the 6600-block 152 A Street.

Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit investigated and recommended charges against Bamgbade. He was charged on Sept. 13.

On Wednesday, police released a photograph of Bamgbade in an attempt to further the investigation, said spokeswoman Cpl. Vanessa Munn.

“We believe that there are likely people in our community who have additional information and we encourage them to reach out to investigators with our Special Victims Unit,” she said in a statement.

Bamgbade is ordered by the court to not be alone in an examination room with a female patient, except in the “immediate and continuous” presence of a female adult chaperone. He is also required to display a notice in his office and exam rooms that says all interactions with female patients in a private room will be done with a female chaperone present.

Bamgbade has been operating the pain clinic since Oct. 2021, said police. According to the clinic’s website, Bamgbade has more than two decades of experience in anaesthesia and pain management from the U.K., the U.S. and Canada.
