The suspect is alleged to have been driving a white Range Rover that collided with a black Honda Civic at 4:10 p.m. Sunday on Lisbonne Blvd. near Jaffa St. in the city’s Fabreville district.
The 75-year-old driver of the Civic was declared dead at the scene.
Two people in the Range Rover fled the scene on foot. The passenger of the vehicle was located by police and taken to hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The 24-year-old man was questioned by investigators before being released.
The driver of the Range Rover was located not far from the site of the collision after he called 911 to report his whereabouts.
He was taken to a hospital, where he underwent blood tests.
Impaired driving might have been a factor in the incident but investigators have yet to confirm that theory.
