Suspect sought in string of Toronto bank robberies

Toronto Police are asking for help to find a man wanted for a series of bank robberies.

Between Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, and Tuesday, Oct. 4, police responded to five robbery calls at financial businesses in the Roncesvalles and downtown areas of Toronto.

Police say in each case a man entered a bank and approached a teller and gave a note saying he was armed with a handgun and demanded cash.

No gun was seen during each robbery.

Police have identified the man as Andrew Phillip Williams, 44, of no fixed address. and he faces five counts of robbery.

He is described as 5-foot-9, 190 lbs, with brown hair and should be considered violent and dangerous.

If he is seen, do not approach and immediately call 9-1-1.
