Brussels (AP) -30 NATO allies on Tuesday with Sweden Finnish legislative approval and possible politics in Turkey Due to a problem, we sent membership bids for both countries to the capitals of our allies.

This move invaded neighboring Ukraine in February, and the subsequent military struggle further strengthened Russia's strategic isolation.

"This is a truly historic moment for Finland, Sweden and NATO," said Alliance Secretary-General Jens Stortenberg.

Thirty ambassadors and standing representatives last week made a historic decision to invite Russia's neighbor Finland and Scandinavian partner Sweden to a military club. Officially approved the decision of the NATO Summit.

Parliamentary approval in Member State Turkey can cause problems for final participation as a Member State, even though a memorandum of agreement has been reached between the three.

Last week, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan fully responded to Turkey's request to expel suspected terrorists with a link to an illegal Kurdish group or a network of exiled priests. If unanswered, Ankara warned that the process could still be thwarted.

of a failed 2016 coup in Turkey Said there is. This is a powerful threat as NATO membership needs to be formally approved by all 30 member states. This gives each one a blocking right.

Stoltemberg said he expected no change in his mind. "There were security concerns that needed to be addressed, and we did what we always do at NATO. We found something in common."

At a press conference with Sweden The Finnish Foreign Minister was plagued by questions about whether certain people's lists need to be expelled to Turkey, but both said such lists were not part of the memorandum.

"We respect and follow up on that memorandum," said Anne Linde, Swedish Foreign Minister, and her government actions are always "in compliance with Swedish law." I added. We comply with international law.

But she added, "I make sure there is a mechanism to fight all forms of terrorism."

All allies have various legislative challenges and procedures to address, and it can take a few more months for the two to become official members.

According to Allied Liberal Democrats, the German parliament is set to approve member bids on Friday. Other parliaments may reach the approval process only after a long summer vacation.

“We look forward to a rapid approval process,” said Pekka Haavisto, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has made this process even more urgent. It will involve both countries in the Western military alliance and further influence NATO, especially in the face of Moscow's military threat.

"As we face the biggest security crisis in decades, we get stronger and people get safer," says Stoltenberg.

With Tuesday's approval, both countries are already deep into the NATO framework. As intimate partners, they have already attended several meetings, including issues that immediately affect them. As official invitees, they can attend all meetings of the ambassador, even if they do not yet have the right to vote.
