Four public beaches in the city due to rainfall .

Water conditions frequently drop after major storm activity, as occurred over the weekend.

Water samples taken at beaches continue to show elevated levels of E. coli.

Numbers continue to be Britannia Beach with the highest number of samples, with Mooney's Bay, Petrie Island East Bay and Petrie Island River Beach exceeding recommended levels.

Westboro Beach is closed year-round for renovations.

Those who choose to ignore the recommendations and swim should avoid entering water with open wounds and do not swallow or put water in their mouths. Shower and wash your hands as soon as possible after entering the water. Wash carefully with soap and treated water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer after playing with sand.
