A weekend "targeted" shootout inflicted a gunshot wound on a Waterloo man: police

A 21-year-old man was left with a gunshot wound as a result of a shooting in the university district over the weekend, according to Waterloo Area Police.

Police responded to a call about shootings near Larch and Hickory streets at about 3:25 am on Saturday, they said.

When police arrived they found that a victim from Waterloo had been shot.

Paramedics took the man to the hospital, but his condition was non-life-threatening.
